The Chico Chamber Advocacy Committee will discuss two significant issues at next week’s meeting that affect local businesses, healthcare access, and the broader Chico community.

Healthcare Legislation Impacting Hospitals

Jolene Francis with Enloe Health will provide an overview of two statewide healthcare initiatives currently moving through California and their potential effects on hospitals and healthcare systems.

Health Care Endangerment Act

Join the discussion on how this measure could create operational challenges for hospitals and impact the ability to recruit and retain leadership talent in communities like Chico.

Health Care Union Transparency, Accountability, and Union Member Right to Vote Act

This initiative would provide healthcare workers with a direct vote regarding how union dues are used for ballot measure campaigns.

Sewer Fee Advocacy Update

Past Chamber Chair Brandon Slater will also provide an update regarding proposed sewer fee changes and the Chamber’s ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of Chico businesses.

The discussion will include:

  • Current proposed fee changes
  • Potential impacts on local businesses
  • The Chamber’s advocacy priorities and position moving forward

This meeting is a unique opportunity to hear directly from those closely following these issues, ask questions, and stay connected to the policies shaping our local business environment.

We encourage you to attend and be part of the conversation.
In-person attendance is encouraged.
