Dave Kilby, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs for the California Chamber of Commerce, addressed members of the Chico Chamber Board of Directors at their Annual Planning Conference November 17.   Kilby shared his extensive experience in the area of political action, and discussed strategies for successful political campaigns.
Kilby joined the California Chamber staff in December 1988 after more than 11 years in local chamber of commerce management.    Since 2004, Kilby has communicated extensively with California businesses through travel and speaking engagements, developing and implementing an extensive outreach program for members, potential members and grass-roots contacts.

He has coordinated local chamber relations, grassroots legislative action efforts, the CalChamber’s weekly legislative conference call and the annual business legislative summit.

May 2007 Chamber Launches General Plan Task ForceTop of Page

May 1, 2007--With updates to both the City of Chico and Butte County General Plans in process, the Chico Chamber of Commerce is forming its own task force to follow the development of both plans.  The new Chamber task force will be Chaired by Chamber Chair-Elect Mark Sorensen, owner of ACC Satellite TV. 
      "How we plan Chico's future is incredibly important for business," stated Sorensen.  "Our business community needs to be actively involved in this process, and our Chamber needs to follow this very closely."  Any Chico Chamber member is welcome on the task force.  If you are willing to serve, email Mark Sorensen at mark@accsat.com.  The first meeting will occur sometime this month.
